22 Jun Captain Picard taught me everything about management…
So, Captain Picard taught me everything about management. Whereas I hope readers will know that’s a joke it’s not far from the truth. The fictional captain of the U.S.S Enterprise NCC – 1701 – D was the man as far as I was concerned whilst growing up. So here’s a list of some of the quotes that I love.
Captain Picard taught me everything about management – The quotes that matter
“All I can say is that although we have only been together for a short time, I know that you are the finest crew in the fleet. And I would trust each of you with my life. So, I am asking you for a leap of faith — and to trust me. ”
“Live now. Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again.”
“The road from legitimate suspicion to rampant paranoia is very much shorter than we think.”
“Let’s make sure that history never forgets the name Enterprise.”
“It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness; that is life.”
“I’d be delighted to offer any advice I have on understanding women. When I have some, I’ll let you know.”
“Someone once told me that time is a predator that stalked us all our lives. But I’d rather believe that is a companion who goes with us on the journey, reminds us to cherish every moment. Because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we’ve lived. After all Number One, we’re only mortal.

I originally wrote this blog post back in 2012. If you had asked me then if I ever thought Captain Picard would be back I would have said no. Patrick Stewart did his part and Picard became a legend. So the announcement the Picard was returning made my day. Check out Patrick Stewart’s return on Gizmodo.
It is an unexpected but delightful surprise to find myself excited and invigorated to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard and to explore new dimensions within him. Read my full statement in the photo. #StarTrek @cbsallaccess Photo: @shervinfoto pic.twitter.com/8Ynuj3RBNm
